Our challenge is to develop innovative on-board systems allowing pilot to minimise noise annoyance during rotorcraft approaches and departures.
In particular, the MANOEUVRES project will realize a novel system for online noise monitoring based on in-flight rotor blade flapping measurements, a suitable acoustic database computed offline, and a number of online estimates based on the processing of flight parameters available on the avionic databus.
It will provide a novel rotor flapping measurement system designed to be installed on-board an actual helicopter for ground demonstrations, and a Pilot Acoustic Indicator (PAI) which will provide the pilot with noise monitoring information based on flapping measures.
